The recent Summat New event held at Leeds University Union and hosted and organised by Leeds For Change was a fantastic day and great success for everyone involved. With over 30 organisations, hundreds of people attending, stalls, workshops, activities and speakers galore, there was a real and tangible feeling of a truly interconnected city working together for social equality, justice, and solidarity.
Our good friends Leeds No Borders, Amnesty International Leeds, and ReachOUT joined us and many others hosting some of these stalls and workshops, inspiring people to get involved in our movements and raising awareness, all the while being inspired ourselves by some of the great ideas and connections to have come from others.
Leeds City of Sanctuary is proud to have been a part of this event, and we certainly look forward to the future friendships many seeds for which were planted there. If you are a group working towards social change in Leeds, please do sign up and get involved with Leeds For Change.
We are all stronger together.
